“….has one of the best voices going around.” – Richard Kingsmill, triplej radio Australia

“ Lior shines with a light reminiscent of the late Jeff Buckley” – Sydney Morning Herald

On one special night,  join us at the Blue Mountains Theatre for a memorable and intimate performance by Lior, featuring a beautiful string quartet that will traverse through Lior’s rich music catalogue as well as featuring new material from Lior’s upcoming new album to be released later in 2017.

Lior is a critically acclaimed Australian songwriter and performer.  While comparisons could be made to Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainright, it’s Lior’s rich, powerful voice and gentle and dexterous guitar playing that creates his unique tonal blend, with hints of Middle Eastern influences expressed in soaring falsettos and serpentine melodies.

One of the most successful independent artist debutants in Australian music history; a platinum selling album, winner of two ARIAs (Australian Record Industry Awards) and nominated a further 6 times, as well as being nominated for triplej’s Australian Album of the Year. On television, Lior has won the APRA (Australian Performing Rights Authority) Screen award for ‘Best Original Song Composed for Screen.’

In Australia he progressed from intimate solo performance spaces through to national city tours in venues growing from 1000 to 2000 capacities, including sold out shows with his extended band at the Sydney Opera House. He has headlined and performed at most of Australia’s best music festivals, including Splendour in the Grass, Woodford and Port Fairy.  Carole King personally asked for Lior to be the support act for her and James Taylor’s Australian Arena tour. Internationally, he was invited to return to the Spiegeltent at the Edinburgh Festival to play a full season and also by WOMAD, to play at their festivals in the UK, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

Lior was commissioned by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra to write a new work in collaboration with renowned composer Nigel Westlake. The work, titled “Compassion”, consists of original melodies and orchestrations set to ancient Hebrew and Arabic texts centring around the notion of compassion. After touring “Compassion” with Australia’s city Symphony Orchestras, Lior premiered “Compassion” in the USA with the Austin Symphony Orchestra over two nights in April 2016 – where it was bestowed with the 2015-2016 Austin Critics’ Table Award for best  Symphonic Performance.

More recently, Lior received glowing reviews for his performance in the role of Motel in the acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof at the Sydney Opera House which also starred Anthony Warlow.
