The Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded by renowned Russian ballet dancer, Sergei Radchenko of the Bolshoi Ballet, in 1989 to give people worldwide the opportunity to experience classical Russian ballet. With its wide repertoire of classical ballet masterpieces, high standards of performance, the dancers, their costumes, the scenery, stage and set design and respect for the traditions of Russian ballet, performances by The Russian National Ballet Theatre are enjoyed and praised by critics and audiences throughout the world.

The Russian National Ballet Theatre will present two, separate performances at the Blue Mountains Theatre; The Nutcracker and Romeo & Juliet.

The Nutcracker
Saturday 9 December, 2.30pm & 7.30pm

After the Swan Lake success in touring Australia last year, The Russian National Ballet Theatre returns to bring the world’s greatest classic ballet The Nutcracker.

Christmas would not be Christmas without The Nutcracker! Come and celebrate the holidays with us, joining the magical adventure of Clara, Fritz and the Nutcracker as they battle the evil Rat King. Take all your family to enjoy the exhilarating and magical journey of The Nutcracker this Christmas.

Romeo and Juliet
Sunday 10 December, 7.30pm

The forever love story, the hundred year classic ,the most heart-warming dancing you will see this year. The Russian National Ballet Theatre is coming back to Australia and they will bring the world’s greatest classic ballet Romeo and Juliet this time.

The seamless choreography by Evgeny Amosov based on the Prokofiev ballet in three Acts and classical music. The Russian National Ballet Theatre will bring audience into a antiquity tradition of tragic romances story. ‘For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo’ – William Shakespeare.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy about two young star-crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. This dramatic ballet stays loyal to Shakespeare’s original tragic ending. The romantic pas de deux, taut fight scenes and the festive street dances will leave you awe-inspired.
