Three Shades Blue Trio

Kristin Berardi, Dave McGuire, Joel Gregory Blue – blues and folk trio feat. KB, Dave McGuire, Joel Gregory

Sunday 8 October, 2pm.

“If you have not heard Kristin Berardi sing, rush to do so. She is probably the finest jazz singer Australia has produced, and given the world-wide scarcity of the genuine article – as opposed to singers who just work with jazz musicians – we may well lose her to an international career.” – John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald

Come and delight in the incredible world class musicality of Kristin Berardi with this unique and beautiful trio, when she is joined on stage by renowned musicians Dave McGuire(acoustic guitar) and Joel Gregory (double bass)  – performing an array of music ranging from old school blues and jazz to sublime acoustic folk.

Kristin’s accolades include winning the Montreux Jazz Festival’s International Vocal Competition in 2006; supporting Al Jarreau and George Benson at Montreux Jazz Festival 2007; winning the National Freedman Fellowship 2007; receiving two National Australian Bell Awards for the Best Jazz Vocal Album for 2010 & 2012; winning the National Jazz Award for Voice at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival (2012); winning another Bell Award for the Best Jazz Vocal Album for 2016; and also winning the APRA Arts Award State Awards – Berardi/Foran/Karlen for their album Hope in My Pocket and tour in 2015.

Kristin  has released ten albums, including her three Bell Award winning albums – the duo album, with the incredible Australian/NZ guitarist James Sherlock If you were There, and Kristin Berardi meets the Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra and ABC release Where Or When.

She has successfully completed tours in Europe and Australia, and has performed locally, nationally and internationally at Jazz Festivals and Jazz Clubs, such as New York, Germany, Switzerland, Japan and Indonesia.

“It’s not every day you hear a vocalist with a warm beautiful tone, extensive jazz vocabulary, pop appeal and magical stage presence. Well….Kristin Berardi has all these elements and so much more. She takes you on a musical journey with every syllable and note. She’s a joy to watch and hear.”Chris Walker, Bass Player & Musical Director  for Al Jarreau;  Musical Director for Cassandra Wilson.
