What Is PAX?
PAX, or “Penny Arcade Expo”, is an annual gaming convention held in various locations around the United States and Australia. It was first held in Seattle in 2004 and has expanded to include events in Boston, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, Melbourne and Sydney. PAX originally focused on video game culture and tabletop gaming, but now also features concerts, panels, and other activities.
History of PAX
The history of PAX dates back to August 2004 when it was first held in Bellevue, Washington. Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins, pioneered in establishing the web comic “Penny Arcade”.The event began as a gathering of friends in a local hotel lobby with only 4,500 people attending. Over the years, the convention has grown dramatically, now often hosting over 70,000 attendees.
Where Does PAX 2023 (Australia) Take Place?

The MCEC is a large convention centre located in the heart of Melbourne. It is easily accessible by public transportation and has plenty of parking available.
When Is PAX 2023 (Australia) Held?
The dates for PAX Australia 2023 are:
- Friday, October 6, 2023: 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Saturday, October 7, 2023: 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Sunday, October 8, 2023: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
PAX Australia is a three-day event, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore all that it has to offer. There will be over 1000 exhibitors, including game publishers, developers, and hardware manufacturers. You’ll also be able to attend panels, participate in tournaments, and meet other gamers from all over Australia.

How to Register for PAX 2023 Aus?
Here are the steps on how to register for PAX Aus 2023:
- Go to the PAX Aus website
- Click on the “Registration” tab.
- Select the type of badge you want to purchase.
- Enter your personal information and payment details.
- Click on the “Submit” button.
The cost of badges for PAX Aus 2023 is as follows:
- Three-day badge: $180
- One-day badge: $75

If you are interested in attending PAX Aus 2024, you can sign up for the waitlist on the PAX Aus website. You will be notified when tickets go on sale.
Here are some other things to keep in mind when registering for PAX Aus:
- You must be 16 years of age or older to attend PAX Aus.
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- There is a limit of two badges per person.
- Badges are non-refundable and non-transferable.
